BML (MLB) Pipes for Bridge Drainage Systems

BML stands for “Brückenentwässerung muffenlos” – German for “Bridge drainage socketless”.

DINSEN® BML bridge drainage pipes are designed to meet the unique challenges faced by bridge construction and other demanding environments. These pipes are engineered to resist the corrosive effects of acid exhaust gases and road salt spray, making them ideal for use in bridge construction, roadways, tunnels, and similar fields. They can also be used for underground installations where durability and resistance to harsh conditions are essential.

BML pipes have a robust coating system to ensure longevity and reliability. The inner surface is coated with a fully cross-linked epoxy resin with a minimum thickness of 120μm, providing excellent protection against corrosion and wear. The outer surface features a two-layer thermal zinc spray coating with a minimum thickness of 40μm, topped with an 80μm silvery-grey epoxy coating (RAL 7001), offering additional protection against environmental elements and abrasion.

  •       • BML fittings: Base coat (70 µm) + top coat (80 µm) according to ZTV-ING Sheet 87

  •       • BML pipes: approx. 40 µm (epoxy resin) + approx. 80 µm (epoxy resin) in accordance with DB 702
  •       • BML fittings: Base coat (70 µm) + top coat (80 µm) according to ZTV-ING Sheet 87

BML is a high performance pipe system with an extremely durable outer coating, while the focus with the KML system is on a durable inner coating.

The BML pipe fittings are designed with durability in mind, featuring a zinc-rich primer with a minimum thickness of 70μm, complemented by a top coat of epoxy resin with a minimum thickness of 80μm in a silvery-grey finish. This combination of protective coatings ensures that the BML pipes and fittings can withstand the rigorous conditions of bridge drainage systems and other challenging environments.
