Dinsen Impex Corp focuses on the research and development of EN877 cast iron pipes, fittings, and couplings. Our DS SML pipes are commonly connected using stainless steel coupling type B, which can withstand hydrostatic pressure between 0 and 0.5 bar.
However, for drainage systems where the pressure may exceed 0.5 bar, we have developed the new DS grip collar to provide additional protection. The axial restraint of the grip collar can withstand pressures up to:
- DN50-100: 10 bar
- DN150-200: 5 bar
- DN250-300: 3 bar
Installation Conditions for Couplings Secured with Grip Collars
The DS grip collar is essential when the drainage pipework is exposed to internal pressures higher than 0.5 bar. Typical scenarios include:
- Pipes Laid Under the Ground Water Table: These pipes are subject to higher pressure due to the surrounding groundwater.
- Waste Water or Rainwater Pipes Running Through Several Storeys Without Outlets: The vertical height and continuous flow increase the pressure within the pipes.
- Pipework Operating Under Pressure for Waste Water Pumped Installations: Systems that use pumps to move wastewater create higher internal pressures.
- Addressing End Thrust Forces at Changes of Direction: To avoid disconnection or slippage, the grip collar ensures stability and secure connections at points where the direction of the pipework changes.
