It is with regret that the WFO has postponed the World Foundry Summit until 2021 due to the current travel restrictions because of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). When it is held, delegates at the event World Foundry Summit are to ‘learn from the best’ with a programme packed full of high calibre speakers. One such draw is Dr Dale Gerard, senior manager of materials engineering product programs and materials technology for General Motors, having worldwide responsibilities. Gerard started his GM career working on advanced casting technology, including squeeze cast and lost foam aluminium, which he helped bring to production. For several years, he also managed many of the powertrain computer-aided engineering (CAE) departments, after which he became the leader for materials engineering in various capacities. He is just one of the presenters at this year’s event, where CEOs will look to reshape the foundry industry.
Organised by the World Foundry Organization (WFO), the World Foundry Summit will now be held in 2021 in New York (date to be advised). This ‘invitation only’ event, is focused on owners and CEOs of foundry businesses from both casting producers and suppliers, to meet, network and learn.
The event will see world-renowned and highly respected speakers making presentations on key topics of interest to the global castings sector, talking on strategy and policy in areas of energy, management and economics.
