New Inner/Outer Adapter: Connector Allows Quick Installation

Concrete pipes with supports, underground concrete pipes or pipes cut flush are a major problem for qualified pipe joiners. Flexseal now offers a solution for all situations: the new inner/outer adapter connects all round pipes with the same inner diameter, whether KG or SML pipes, cast iron pipes, concrete pipes or ribbed pipes. Roland Mertens, Technical Manager at Flexseal GmbH, said: “With our new internal/external adapters, assemblers can benefit from a versatile connector for a wide range of applications and connection options.”

On the one hand, the adapter is equipped with an inner sleeve made of impact-resistant and durable ABS plastic (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) and a lip seal, water-resistant to more than 0.5 bar. The bevelled sealing lip blends smoothly into the pipe or hole to be connected. The other side of the adapter mimics the flare of a standard plastic tubing, and since the inner/outer adapter is based on a Flexseal plug-in connection, it can be installed in minutes without tools. According to the company, users do not need to clean the outer surfaces of the pipes. Built-in anti-slip protection ensures safe installation.

The new adapters can be plugged directly into commercially available KG receptacles, standard type 2B (SC) receptacles with wear ring or Flexseal 2B1 ALL-IN-ONE receptacle. If transverse loads are not a concern, adapter sleeves (AC) or drain sleeves (DC) can also be used for the connection. The internal/external connectors are available in sizes DN 125, DN 200 and DN 300 and as a combination element for DN 150 on request.
