Perseverance in the cold winter: DINSEN colleagues’ quality inspection responsibilities

In this chilly season, two colleagues from DINSEN, with their expertise and perseverance, ignited a warm and bright “quality fire” for the company’s first ductile iron pipe fittings business.

When most people were enjoying the shelter of heating in the office, or rushing home after get off work to avoid the cold winter, Bill, Oliver and Wenfeng resolutely went to the front line of the factory and started a three-day quality inspection “battle”. This is not an ordinary task. As the company’s first ductile iron pipe fittings business, it carries the trust of customers and is related to the company’s future reputation and development in this field. There is no room for carelessness.
The moment they stepped into the factory, the cold air seemed to penetrate the thick cotton clothes in an instant, but the two of them did not retreat at all.

On the first day, facing the mountains of ductile iron pipe fittings, they quickly entered the state, and compared them with the detailed quality inspection standards, carefully examining them one by one. Starting from the appearance of the pipe fittings, check whether the surface is smooth and flat, and whether there are defects such as sand holes and pores. Whenever they find a slight abnormality, they will stop immediately, use professional tools to further measure and mark, and record detailed data to ensure that the problem will not be missed.

The noisy machine sounds in the factory and the whistling cold wind in winter interweave into an unpleasant “background music”, but they are immersed in their own quality inspection world, with no distractions. As time goes by, the temperature in the workshop seems to be lower, and their hands and feet gradually become numb, but they just rub their hands and stamp their feet occasionally, and then continue to work. At lunch time, they simply eat a few mouthfuls of food, take a short rest, and then return to their posts, for fear of delaying progress.

The next day, the quality inspection work entered the more critical internal structure inspection link. They skillfully operate the flaw detection instrument to conduct a deep “scan” of the internal quality of the pipe fittings. This requires a high degree of concentration and patience, because even extremely small cracks or defects may cause serious problems in future use. In order to ensure the accuracy of the test results, they repeatedly adjust the instrument parameters and review each suspected problem point from multiple angles. Sometimes, in order to see an internal detail clearly, they need to maintain a posture for a long time, staring at the instrument screen without blinking, and not caring about their sore necks and dry eyes.

The workers in the factory couldn’t help but give them a thumbs up, admiring their rigorous and serious work attitude without fear of the severe cold. And they just smiled modestly and continued to work hard. On this day, they not only had to complete the complex inspection process, but also communicate with the factory’s technical staff in a timely manner, discuss solutions to the problems found, and strive to make every pipe fitting reach the best quality without affecting the production progress.

Finally, on the third day, after the careful screening of the first two days, most of the pipe fittings had completed the preliminary quality inspection, but they did not relax. The final battle was to organize and check all the quality inspection data to ensure that the quality information of each pipe fitting was complete and accurate. They sat at the desk in the factory, their fingers kept shuttling between the calculator and the documents, and their eyes repeatedly compared the data with the real objects. Once the data was found to be inconsistent, they immediately stood up and re-checked the pipe fittings, not missing any details that might affect the quality judgment.

When the afterglow of the setting sun shone into the factory, coating the neatly arranged and strictly quality-inspected ductile iron pipe fittings with a layer of golden light, Bill, Oliver and Wenfeng finally breathed a sigh of relief and smiled with satisfaction on their faces. For three days, they persevered in the cold winter, exchanged sweat and hard work for this batch of products that fully met the standards, and handed in a perfect answer for the company’s first business.

Their efforts not only completed a quality inspection task, but also set an example for the company and explained DINSEN’s persistent pursuit of quality. You worked together from dawn to dusk in such cold weather yesterday to inspect quality, laying a solid foundation for the company’s development towards quality. Thank you. In the days to come, I believe that this perseverance and responsibility will be like the warm sun in winter, illuminating every step we take, inspiring more colleagues to shine in their respective positions, and creating more glory for the company. Let us give a thumbs up to these two outstanding colleagues, learn from them, and work together to create a better tomorrow for DINSEN!
